Privacy Policy

The short version

SG Primary Tingxie does not collect personal information. We do not have user accounts. We do not track you. Your vocabulary lists are saved only on your device. Photos you scan are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract Chinese characters and are not stored after the response is returned.

What we collect

Nothing about you personally. No name, no email, no phone, no location, no analytics, no advertising IDs.

The only data leaving your device is:

• Images you choose to scan — sent to Anthropic Claude (https://anthropic.com/privacy) to extract Chinese vocabulary, then discarded.
• Chinese words you ask for example sentences — sent to Anthropic Claude to generate the sentences, then discarded.

What stays on your device

• Your saved vocabulary lists (in browser localStorage)
• Cached example sentences for words you've looked up
• Your quiz progress and history

Your credit balance is also stored on your device. To delete this data, clear the app data in iOS Settings or uninstall the app.

Purchases

The app offers optional in-app purchases of credit packs (used for extra AI-generated example sentences and worksheet scans). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Your credit balance is kept only on your device, not on any server.

Permissions

Camera — used only when you tap the scan button to take a photo of a worksheet. We never access the camera in the background.

Photo Library — used only when you pick an existing photo to scan.

Children's privacy

This app is designed for primary school students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (or anyone else). The app contains no ads, no third-party tracking, and no links to social networks. It offers optional in-app purchases (credit packs) handled by Apple; we recommend purchases be made with parental supervision.

Third-party services

We use Anthropic Claude for AI text extraction and sentence generation. We use Vercel to host the app servers. No analytics or tracking is used.
